"The Women of Substance"
Statement of Faith

I Believe

God is the Creator & Ruler of The Universe.  He is eternal  &  existent in three persons:  The   Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 14:8-11; Romans 8:13-16; I Corinthians 12:3-6; II Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 2:8, 9; I Peter 1:2.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God;  being supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary.  Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead  after three days to demonstrate His power over sin, Satan, and death.  He ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again someday to Earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22, 23; Luke 1:26-35; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 14; Hebrews 4:14, 15; I Corinthians 15:3-7; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13; Luke 1:26-35; I Peter 2:24.

The Holy Spirit is the third member of the  Holy Trinity.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also comes to live in every Christian the moment he or she trusts in Christ alone for salvation.  He enables the Christian to live with power, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.   As Christians, we seek to live a Godly life by living under His control.

John 16:7-13; 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:1-11; 12:1-8; I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 12; II Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18.

The Bible is God's Word to us.  It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth and without any mixture of error.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christians to believe.

Psalm 12:6; 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; II Timothy 1:13; 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21.

Mankind is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  We are the supreme object of God's creation.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by a sinful nature, which causes us to live in disobedience to God.  This "sin-nature" separates people from God and causes the problems & sorrows of  life.

Genesis 1:27; 3:6-11; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1, 2; Romans 3:23.

Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it by faith alone in Jesus Christ.  We can never  be redeemed  for our sin by self-improvement or good works.   Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from the penalty of sin.  When we place our faith  in Christ alone, we are saved.

Romans 3:23; 6:23; Revelation 21:27; Ephesians 2:8, 9:11; 11 Corinthians 5:21; John 3:16; John 6:27,39

Human beings, mankind, were created to exist forever.  We will exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.     Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:36; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17, 18; I Corinthians 2:7-9; Revelation 20:15.

Jesus Is The Way...The Only Way!
